Finance and Operations Coordinator

Leila Johnson is committed to building communities around important causes. Her continued interest in making an impact within the social justice sector led her to MAG. She is excited to support MAG’s new approach that “strengthens individual organizations as well as networks, movements, and individual leadership”.

Leila joined MAG as the Finance and Operations Coordinator in 2012. She manages the day-to-day administrative and financial aspects within MAG’s virtual office. Leila helps to maintain and improve the technological and administrative systems. Her role supports the smooth work flow of MAG's consulting services.

Prior to joining MAG, Leila started a virtual firm, Data-Scribe, with her husband. Their company primarily helps nonprofit organizations develop Web sites that create and strengthen online communities. In her role as Operations Manager at Data-Scribe, Leila creates, maintains, and improves upon systems that support the work their team members complete for their clients. In 2010, Leila’s company published her book, Driving to Success: Let Your Spirit Take the Wheel, which discusses her professional journey and the importance of finding meaningful work.

A believer in volunteering her time, Leila offers service grants to nonprofit organizations through her company. She also has experience holding leadership roles within nonprofit organizations. Leila was Director of Public Relations and Awards for the Northern New Mexico Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and President of the Albuquerque Independent Business Alliance. Lastly, Leila founded a nonprofit organization for entrepreneurial couples (National Copreneur Society) and a community organization for creative communications professionals (WriterGal Network).
