Mónica Palacio, Senior Consultant
Mónica Palacio is a leader in strategic management, organizational development and cultural competency with over 15 years of experience working with local and national social justice organizations. Her repertoire includes program management, comprehensive community planning, and working with traditionally disenfranchised communities. A seasoned workshop leader, she has particular expertise working with grass roots coalitions, law enforcement, criminal justice programs, and a wide range of U.S. Latino communities.

Mónica’s social justice activism is rooted in her identity as an immigrant to the United States. Her lifelong interest in social change led her to the Georgetown Law Center, where she became involved in the causes of affirmative action, juvenile justice, youth leadership, and community development. She has worked extensively in Latino “hubs” —including Texas, Chicago, Florida, and New York— with hundreds of Latino leaders.

Before joining MAG, Mónica held leadership positions with a number of national social change organizations. She was Director of Training and Technical Assistance for the National Crime Prevention Council, and Associate Director of the National Coalition Building Institute Latino Leadership Program. She has also served on the faculty of American University’s Department of International Training and Education.

Mónica’s MAG clients have included the ACLU Women's Project, Network In Solidarity with the People of Guatemala, Global Rights, La Clinica Del Pueblo, Save Darfur Coalition, Land Trust Alliance, SisterSong, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and The U.S. Human Rights Network.
