Robbie Tisch
Robbie Tisch
Associate Consultant - Fundraising
Robbie Ross Tisch is a nationally renowned expert in strengthening organizations. She has helped hundreds of social justice groups create robust management and powerful strategies for change, and is particularly recognized for her ability to assist organizations in identifying and overcoming the barriers that prevent them from reaching to the next level in their fundraising efforts.
“Fundraising presents specific challenges for advocacy groups,” she notes. “Organizations are prone to raise funds around what they think they can get, instead of what they need it for. I see my work in fundraising as helping organizations figure out how to raise money for the things they want to do.”
Prior to joining MAG, Robbie held leadership positions in a variety of national social justice organizations. She was Director of Philanthropic Services for the International Youth Foundation, Vice President for Development for the Center for Marine Conservation, and Director of Development for the Children’s Defense Fund, and has sat on numerous boards and advisory groups.
Robbie’s consulting work is rooted in her years of experience, and also in a set of core values about the potential of people and organizations.
“When I work with organizations, I want to know not only ‘is the work getting done?’ but also ‘how do they feel about themselves and each other — is this really a healthy, positive place to work?’ I feel that consulting is really grounded in helping people find ways to bring out their best and biggest selves.”
At MAG, Robbie has consulted to hundreds of national, state, and local groups, including the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s State KIDS COUNT network, the Education Trust, the Innocence Project, the National Women’s Law Center, the National Immigration Forum, and Agenda for Children in Louisiana. She is also an active volunteer, working with the West Coast Black Theater Group, SisterMentors, and Joy of Sports Foundation.
